What working at Simply Matchmaking has taught me about Love & Dating :)

Hi all! My name is Kaitlyn and I am the Director of Matchmaking here at Simply Matchmaking. As this summer comes to an end, I have been reflecting on the past year and thinking about all that I have learned from working at the amazing company that is Simply Matchmaking. I wanted to pass along the lessons that I have learned to all of you!

Everyone wants (and deserves) love!

​I think the number one thing that I have learned from working with clients at Simply Matchmaking is that we all - no matter how different we are - are looking for the same thing… love! We service clients from all walks of life, all ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, ages and more. We have such a diverse and broad range of clientele, but I have noticed that they all have at least one thing in common. They are all looking for a person to love and share their life with. This reminds me that we are all not so different after all - we all want and deserve love!

An open heart and open mind is SO important 

This is probably the advice that we give our clients most often. Everyone thinks that they have a specific "type" and they have qualifications that their perfect match should meet for them to be “the one”. But what a lot of people don't realize is that they are actually missing out on meeting other amazing people that have total potential to be their perfect match! Someone doesn't have to check ALL the boxes to be the potential love of your life. By encouraging so many of our clients to be open to meeting someone who doesn't fit all their criteria, we have been able to make so make people happy by finding them a long-term relationship, engagement or marriage with someone they never would have met if they had not trusted us to go outside the box by introducing them to someone different from the kind of person they had been seeking on their own. Seeing all this success has made me realize that keeping an open heart and mind about what kind of match may work for you is SO important on the journey to finding love.

There are so many AMAZING people looking for love

I think a lot of people who have been on their dating journey for a while and haven't found a lot of success meeting people naturally or on dating apps get really discouraged! I totally understand that - but it is important to not let that lack of success trick you into believing that there are no available, great people to meet out there. We have so many wonderful, single people coming through our doors every day and they are all looking for relationships. After hours and hours of swiping and feeling like there are no nice, available people left, this has been so encouraging! There truly are so many amazing fish in the sea and our clients are proof of that!

Even if things don't work out, every match can be a learning experience

Our matching and dating process is such a learning experience for us and all our clients. We truly believe in only selecting quality matches that we feel strongly about and we put a lot of work into making these matches. But of course, we don't always hit the nail on the head and sometimes things don't work out as perfectly as we hoped they would. One thing that I have learned from talking with our clients is that even if they don't meet their future spouse on their very first match, or even their second, any dating experience they have with us helps them learn a bit more about themselves, can help them with future dates and grow as a person. I think this is a really great way to look at dating. If you just take everything in and learn from it all, you will always gain something positive from your matches. Even if things don't work out the way that you want them to, each date can be a valuable learning experience!
