Summer date ideas in the Pacific Northwest!

7/13/2022

Summer in Seattle is without a doubt the best time of the year! And the reason for this (other than the amazing weather) is that there are so many fun things to do. And luckily a lot of these summer activities make for awesome dates! Check out our favorite Seattle Summer dates:
Picture

Hiking

The PNW is full of picturesque hikes with great mountain views, waterfalls, and lakes. Seattle has hikes ranging from easy to expert so there is definitely something for everyone. If you are super adventurous and want to go on a romantic hike, the New Moon Night Hike is for you. Mark your calendars for September 15th from 7pm to 9pm for a moon lit hike through Discovery Park! Check out all of your local hiking options here: https://www.wta.org/go-outside/seasonal-hikes/summer-destinations

Paddle Boarding

Whether you are new to SUP (stand-up paddle boards) or an experienced paddler – this a very fun date activity. Head over to Agua Verde or one of the many other locations around Seattle or the Eastside to rent a couple of paddle boards and enjoy being out in the sun. The views on Lake Union are spectacular and Lake Washington is a great place to be on the water as well: aguaverde.com/paddleclub/

Kayaking

Rent a two person paddle board and test out your team work skills with your date! This is a great date idea if you and your date are outdoorsy and active! There are so many rental places to choose from in the Seattle area. Get a different view of Alki Beach from the water: www.kayakalki.com/rentals/

Outdoor Concerts

There are dozens of outdoor concerts coming up at the various outdoor venues around Seattle -- Chateau Ste. Michelle, Whitewater River Amphitheater, Marymoor Park, and The Gorge. There is something for everyone and there is nothing like listening to live music with someone you are interested in :) Check out the list here: www.waconcerts.com

Picnics

Greenlake or Gasworks park are awesome choices for this. Grab some takeout (or make some easy snacks), wine and a blanket and enjoy the sunny weather, beautiful sunsets and water views.

Wine Tasting

You don't need to drive all the way to Walla Walla or Columbia Valley to taste some of the best wines Washington has to offer.  From Bainbridge Island to Woodinville, there are many great wineries around Seattle offering wine tasting. Try out as many as you like, and then maybe buy your favorite to share on your next date! Check out a list of local tasting rooms here: woodinvillewinecountry.com/

The Great Wheel

While some may consider it a tourist trap...if you haven’t been to The Great Wheel yet it is a must try for this summer! It has some of the most amazing views around and is the perfect place to enjoy a Seattle summer sunset.
