A new take on Valentine's Day <3

If all the red & pink candy in the grocery store hasn’t tipped you off yet, we are here to remind you that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! We know most of you aren’t overly excited about celebrating the 14th of February, but here at Simply Matchmaking we really do love Valentine’s Day and we want you to know why!  We just might change your mind and convince you to make this Valentine’s Day one for the books :)

The stress and pressure of this holiday can be totally overwhelming - from trying to plan something special, brainstorming the perfect gift, or even the struggle of planning a “gal-entine’s” get together. Just trying to avoid the Valentine’s craziness all together is hard - it seems just about everything surrounding Valentine’s Day traditions is totally taxing. 

​For us, it’s the best holiday of the year as a matchmaking company! It is a day that celebrates everything we stand for - LOVE. Of all the holidays to celebrate, Valentine’s Day is the only one to put a big spotlight on it.  We need to stop and focus on the importance of love in our lives - and not just your love for a significant other, love in all forms! It doesn’t have to be exclusive - it can be a day to celebrate the love that you have for your family, your friends, your fluffy friend or really just anyone. 

It is always nice to get a little reminder that you are loved, so take this Valentine’s Day to remind someone that somebody out there loves them! It can be as simple as writing a card and sending it to surprise your best friend, treating a co-worker their favorite sweets, or doing an anonymous good deed. Take this opportunity to fell the people in your life that you care about how much you love them! Buy a stranger’s coffee, pay it forward, and do anything that will help spread a little love this February 14th!

​Instead of stressing about expensive gifts and fancy dinners, use this Valentine’s Day as a good excuse to spread the spirit! And maybe these little gestures of kindness and love will become a tradition of yours, not only on February 14th, but more often as well!
 
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about commercial love, it can be about bringing happiness, paying it forward, and making this crazy world we live in just a little better :)
